ZLocator — Terms of Service
Updated 22 August 2026.
Terms of service
ZLocator is provided by HD-SofT Oy, a Finnish company, info@zlocator.com. By using the app you accept these terms.
What ZLocator is
A companion app for the game DayZ. You point a phone or tablet at the screen you are playing on; the app recognises the terrain in the picture and shows your position on a map of Chernarus, Livonia or Sakhal, together with the nearest named places.
It does not modify the game, read its memory, hook its process, inject anything into it, or connect to game servers. It only looks at the picture on your screen through the camera, exactly as another person in the room could. It ships no DayZ files: the map tiles, place names and reference imagery were produced by us by walking the terrain in-game and recording what we saw.
Whether third-party tools are allowed on the server you play on is between you and that server. You are responsible for following the rules of the game and of the servers you join.
Subscriptions and prices
The first 3 days are free. After that ZLocator is €3.99 per month or €29.99 per year, covering every map we ship, including the ones added later.
Billing runs through Google Play (and later the App Store). Nothing is sold on our site. A subscription renews until cancelled, and a cancelled subscription stays active until the paid period ends. You manage and cancel it in your store account.
Refunds
Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought through — Google Play or the App Store — and are requested there, not from us.
As an EU consumer you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By starting to use the service during that period you agree that delivery begins immediately. Your mandatory rights under Finnish consumer law are not limited by these terms.
What we promise, and what we do not
The app is built to name the town you are next to, show which way you are facing, and mark you on the map. It is a best-effort estimate from a picture, not a GPS. It needs daylight in the game and a clear view of the screen; deep forest, night, indoors and menus over the picture will slow it down or stop it working. We do not promise a specific accuracy in metres, uninterrupted availability, or that any particular map stays supported.
ZLocator is entertainment software. Do not use it as a safety, navigation or emergency tool.
Fair use
The subscription is for your personal use. Do not resell access, share credentials at scale, script the API outside the app, extract our map or index data in bulk, or reverse engineer the service except as mandatory law allows. We may rate-limit or suspend a device that overloads the service or works around these limits.
Our content
The map tiles, place-name data, reference imagery, indexes, the app and this site are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use the app while your subscription is valid.

Availability
We may change, interrupt or discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we refund the unused part of a paid period. We are liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence and for anything mandatory Finnish law does not allow us to exclude; beyond that our liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the preceding 12 months, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; material changes are shown in the app before they take effect, and you can cancel if you do not accept them.
Finnish law applies, and disputes are heard by the District Court of Helsinki or the Consumer Disputes Board.
